The Department of Indian Work’s Emergency Services Program serves the American Indian community in the St. Paul and east metro area of Minnesota’s Twin Cities.

Department of Indian Work helps families meet basic needs by providing:
• emergency food for qualified families up to six times a year
• clothing and financial assistance for qualified families
• assistance with gas and transportation
• funeral assistance
• budgeting and nutrition information
• assistance with medical expenses.

The Department of Indian Work is American Indian owned and operated. Last year the Emergency Services Program provided assistance to 3,878 people.

Running Strong provided funds for the general support of the Emergency Services Program.
