Bring Christmas joy to kids with Toys for Tribes
11/7/16 in Cheyenne River Sioux Reservation, South Dakota under Seasonal Programs
Cheyenne River Sioux Reservation, South Dakota
Toys for Tribes benefits youth on the Cheyenne River Sioux Indian Reservation, in South Dakota. These children are growing up in one of the five poorest counties in the United States, where they must endure poverty, geographic isolation, and harsh South Dakota winters on the plains.
Each year, they write letters to Santa, and we try to answer each one by providing at least one gift from their wish list to ensure they have a joy-filled Christmas.
Last year we were able to provide toys to over 1,600 children. This year we want to reach even more!
These are some of the letters to “Santa” that we have received this year.
Here are some photos from last year!
