Dreamstarter Tara Rouillard Teaches the Values of the Tipi and the Science Behind it

After becoming a Dreamstarter, I began looking into traditions that made the Lakota people strong, and it all starts from home. That is why it's important to learn about the tipi. There are different teachings that go into this. The Lakota use only 12 poles, 3 representing the evening star, the morning star, and the north star. The 7 poles that hold up the tripod, represent the 7 Lakota values. The backbone represents the strength, and then lastly there are two flap poles. Other tribes do it differently, but as Lakota we assemble this way.
