At the Oyate Teca Project on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, executive director Rose Fraser has planned a full schedule of events and activities for Pine Ridge kids to look forward to all summer long.
They kicked off this summer with a “School’s Out Party” on June 2, which included a cook out, bouncy houses, a carnival and field games!
Oyate Teca offers three week-long summer camps where local youth do everything from participate in arts & crafts to play sports!
“During this time, we play loud music and have evening league games for volleyball, basketball and horseshoes,” said Rose.
The Oyate Teca Project youth center is open daily throughout the summer, providing a safe and fun space for kids spend their days. On average, they serve about 20 kids daily.
Oyate Teca, works to bring the whole community together to provide free, fun-filled summer days for the community.
