Every year, American families all across the nation gather to celebrate family and give thanks over delicious food. However, for many American Indian families a special meal during the holidays is often unaffordable.
Each year, Running Strong sends frozen turkeys to our field office on the Pine Ridge Reservation and Cheyenne River Reservations. Last year, 3,000 turkeys were distributed to families during the holiday season! These turkey boxes come with all the “fixin’s” including stuffing mix, potatoes, vegetables, and a pumpkin pie.
Through the generosity of Running Strong supporters, American Indian families enjoy a hearty turkey dinner and a festive holiday season with family and friends!
