As you know, each winter Running Strong supports a Heat Match program on Pine Ridge and Cheyenne River Sioux Indian Reservations. The Heat Match provides a 1:1 match for up to $100 so that families can buy propane or electric heat to keep warm in the cold South Dakota winter.
The Heat Match started last month, and Pine Ridge Field Coordinator Dave Lone Elk recently found time between helping families to give us a quick update.
This year’s Heat Match has already helped more than 350 families in Pine Ridge alone!
