Dreamstarter Incubator Microenterprise Development Program – Roots + Blooms

The 𐒻𐓥𐓣𐓥𐓘𐓷𐓣͘ (Ihkihkawi) Microenterprise Development program, a Dreamstarter Incubator project, has provided micro-loans to four Native American business-owners and entrepreneurs in Oklahoma.   One was recently awarded to Whitney Virden, of Roots + Blooms in Bartletsville, Oklahoma.

Roots + Blooms in Bartletsville, Oklahoma is a full-service flower shop that specializes in events, weddings and workshops.

“Our mission is to connect our community to nature by making flowers more accessible,” stated owner Whitney Virden in her request for a $5,000 Microenterprise Development loan.

“We believe that flowers improve the mental wellbeing of those who experience them through self-care or by receiving them as a gift,” says Whitney. “Flowers connect us to nature and gives insight to our Creator. His promises are seen in the beauty of His creations.

“We believe by making flowers more accessible we are able to heal, love and, inspire our community.”
